About Weirdly Famous…
Weirdly Famous began when two friends shared custody of a laser cutter and a 3D printer for fun.
Say hello to Megan and Pam, founders of Weirdly Famous..
We spent seven years working together in downtown revitalization at Red Wing Downtown Main Street in Red Wing, Minnesota, where we helped local businesses, put on huge events, raised tons of moola, and put our love for our downtown into our jobs… so much so that we burned the F out!
Red Wing is a river town known for its historic buildings, bluff views, riverboats, and one extremely LARGE boot! Not metaphorically large. Actually large. As in, the World’s Largest Boot, proudly housed at the Red Wing Shoe Co. flagship store.
So maybe it was inevitable that we’d become people who think a lot about scale. But instead of going BIG…we go MINI!
Somewhere between meetings, we became friends. We discovered we both have an unreasonable, indescribable, insatiable fondness for miniatures. Our first friend trip together was heading to Chicago for the world’s largest miniature show! When we aren’t shrinking things, we both love to travel and never, ever pass up a gift shop.
Today, Weirdly Famous creates custom wholesale souvenirs and fundraising products for small towns, Main Streets, chambers, museums, gift shops, tourism groups, and local organizations. We help communities turn their landmarks, signs, buildings, and beloved oddities into tiny products people actually want to buy, collect, gift, and show off.
Because every town has something famous. Sometimes it is the World’s Largest Boot. Sometimes it is a sign, a mural, a diner, a theater marquee, or a place only locals fully understand.
And sometimes the best way to honor something BIG is to make it delightfully tiny.
